Welcome to Ski Manager! This guide walks you through your first day as a resort manager.
Head to the Trail Map from your dashboard. Click the Build button to open the build menu. Available slopes will appear as purple lines on the map. Click a purple slope line, choose the slope type, and click Build to construct it.
Green slopes are cheapest and attract the most beginners. Start with one or two.
Without a lift, skiers can't get up the mountain. In the build menu, switch to the Build Lift tab. Available lift lines appear as purple lines on the map. Click one, pick a lift type and seat count, then build it.
Lift types from cheapest to most expensive:
- Button Lift — low capacity, low cost
- Fixed Grip Chairlift — medium capacity
- Detachable Chairlift — faster boarding
- Gondola — weather-protected
- Cable Car — highest capacity, highest cost
Go to Staff > Hire Staff. You'll need at minimum:
- 1 Lift Mechanic — keeps your lifts running
- 1 Ski Patrol — keeps slopes safe
- 1 Groomer Operator — maintains slope conditions
Staff cost a daily salary, so don't hire more than you can afford.
Go to Lift Tickets and set your prices. Start low (around 25-35€ for a full day pass) to attract visitors while your resort is small.
Weather changes every real day. Snow conditions affect your slopes, and blizzards can shut down lifts. Visit the Weather page to plan ahead.
¶ Understanding Your Dashboard
Your dashboard shows key stats:
- Cash — your money, earned from tickets and buildings
- Snow Level — current snow depth on your slopes
- Reputation — how well-known your resort is
- Visitors — how many people came yesterday
- Genepis — premium currency earned through gameplay
- Don't spend all your starting cash at once. Keep a reserve for salaries.
- Green slopes are the best early investment — they're cheap and attract the most visitors.
- Check staff morale regularly. Unhappy staff work slower.
- Comply with government regulations early. The fines for non-compliance are expensive.
- Claim your daily login bonus every day for free cash.
- Weather affects everything. Sunny days bring visitors but melt snow. Snowy days build your base but reduce visibility.
After your first slope and lift are running:
- Build a Hotel — lets visitors stay overnight
- Build a Restaurant — feeds visitors, earns dining revenue
- Buy a Snow Cannon — produces artificial snow when temperatures drop
- Hire more staff as your resort grows
- Open more slopes in different sectors
